I'm Bill Quimby. I've sold vanity phone numbers since 1995, and I run this site and a family of related ones (including 800watch.com, LocalVanityNumbers.com, and TollFreeNumbers.com). Here is what this site knows about you and what I do with it.
When you search for a number here, I keep a log of the search: the term, the state, and the category it matched. Searches are not tied to your name or email. I use them to make the site's categories smarter.
When you ask me to watch a number and confirm your email, I connect the searches you made here that same day to your email address. That is the honest trade behind the free watch: your searches here help me pick better suggestions for you. I may also note the state your visit appears to come from, and if you answer one of my optional one-tap questions, I keep that answer.
I don't sell or share your information with anyone. One service provider, Anthropic, helps me read requests and draft my answers; nothing goes out without my review. There are no third-party trackers or ad pixels on this site. I don't store your raw IP address with your profile. Emails I send carry no tracking images.
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe that stops everything, across all my sites. Unsubscribing also erases your linked searches and your question answers. If you'd rather keep the watch updates but skip my suggestions, every email has a one-tap link for that too. Inactive data is purged on a schedule rather than kept forever.
When you write to me in the chat box, I keep the conversation and the search you were on, so I can answer you and pick up where we left off. Your messages reach my phone through Chatwoot, the service I use to answer chats. Like everything else here, I don't sell or share them. The full details are on the terms page.
When you check numbers to save them to your clipboard list, your browser keeps the list, and I keep a copy for 90 days, so I can see which numbers people like. The copy is filed under a random number your browser picks, which links your visits from that browser, along with your browser type and a scrambled form of your internet address that changes daily. After that, I keep only which numbers were picked, with nothing that points to you. If you email the list to yourself, I keep the address with it and send only the list you asked for. Like everything else here, I don't sell or share it.
AI assistants can look up numbers here through a direct connection. For each lookup I keep the word or number asked, the answer, which assistant asked, and when, with nothing that points to you. I keep the whole number so the next person who asks gets the answer free, and as my record of which numbers people ask about. A scrambled tag for the caller is kept 48 hours to stop abuse, then only totals. A lookup never tells me your name, and I don't keep any location your assistant sends. If you ask your assistant to request a number for you, it passes along the name and email you give it so I can answer you, and I keep that request the same as one from the site's form. If you ask your assistant to watch a number, it passes along your email, and your first name if you give it, and you confirm it before anything else is sent. If you never confirm, your address is deleted after 14 days. Once you've confirmed a watch, your assistant can include your email when it looks something up for you. Those lookups, full numbers included, stay with your watch until you unsubscribe, and then they're deleted. They help me pick better suggestions for you, and they give you your own, larger allowance of lookups and a check of whether a number is in use. More about it: vanitynumbers.com/ai.
